The Mercedes GLA recently started to be on display in their dealership showrooms across North America after the successful launch of their compact model the Mercedes CLA sedan.

The Mercedes GLA class is a crossover or compact utility vehicle (CUV) based on the CLA platform, but looking at the GLA model from front to back, it just looks like any hatchback, very much like the Subaru Impreza. So, it is basically a hatchback version of the Mercedes CLA.

2015 Audi A3 Sedan – Premium Compact Luxury

Audi will be introducing the new A3 sedan in China and North America. For Canada it will be replacing the current A3 hatchback. The reason is of course to compete with the recently released Mercedes CLA which has had quite a big success.

No price figures has been released, but look for it to be in the low $30,000 for the entry level 2015 Audi A3 sedan and there will be three engine choices for the A3. A 1.8 liter TFSI (Turbo Charged), a 2.0 liter TFSI and a 2.0 liter turbo diesel.

Mercedes-Benz is trying to get new car buyers to consider the CLA, in addition to the other choices like a Toyota Camry or Honda Accord that cost over $35,000.

The 2014 Mercedes CLA 250 is available now in Mercedes-Benz dealerships beginning at approximately $34,000.  The CLA is based on the Mercedes-Benz B-Class and the B-Class is only offered in Canada and most of the world. It not however available in the United States.  The CLA like the B-Class has a transverse-four-cylinder-engine and is a front-wheel drive car configuration with a 4 door sedan body instead of the two-box 4 door hatchback style of the B-Class.

The 2012 MINI Roadster is a two-seater convertible based on the MINI Convertible platform. The difference is that it looks more sporty and it has the added bonus of a larger trunk space.

The 2012 Volvo C30 ranks 7.7 out of 10 for the upscale small cars category. The score was based on analysis of 58 published reviews and test drives of the Volvo C30 coupe and our analysis of reliability and safety data.

With a small trunk and a uniquely shaped glass hatch many testers have said that the 2012 Volvo C30 coupe is not a hatchback made to do work , however they do think that it has an attractive exterior design.
