Leave it up to MINI to stuff a load of fun and features into such a small package and the 2012 MINI Roadster is proof of that talent.
The 2012 MINI Roadster is a two-seater convertible based on the MINI Convertible platform. The difference is that it looks more sporty and it has the added bonus of a larger trunk space.
The trunk space for the MINI Roadster measures in at 240 liters and it also has a pass through opening for larger items like a surf board if need be. It’s more than enough space for your multi-day getaways.

The mid-level trim comes with a few option packages , which includes alarm system, black headlight reflectors, chrome finishing, black sport stripes, comfort access, wind deflectors and front center armrest.
As for entertaining yourself whilst driving the MINI Roadster entertainment package includes the Harmon Kardon sound system with media connect and Sirius satellite radio.
In addition there is also a sport package that really tightens up the MINI Roadster to handle the fun twisty roads. It includes 17 inch conical spoke wheels, dynamic traction and sport suspension/shocks and springs. Also, you can get metallic paint and a leather interior option.
Unlike the Mercedes roadster the 2012 MINI Roadster does not have a standard automatic soft top. The soft top is unlined and is manual and it is only available in black. To complete the soft top operation the driver will have to get outside the vehicle. If you would like an automatic convertible top, there is a power option which can run about $800.
In terms of the dimensions of the 2012 MINI Roadster, it remains the same as the MINI Convertible with wheelbase at 2467 mm and height at 1390 mm.
The standard Cooper Roadster comes with normally aspirated 1.6 liter 4 cylinder engine producing just 121 hp and 118 lb/ft of torque. Stepping up to the Cooper S will get you a turbo charged 1.6 liter engine that outputs 181 hp with 177 lb/ft of torque.
The 2012 MINI Roadster Cooper S will accelerate from 0-60 mph in 7.3 seconds. The six speed transmission available in manual (standard feature) and optional automatic certainly helps to shift the gears quicker and with a curb weight of 2744 lb the MINI Roadster accelerate like a GO-KART.
