The 2010 Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 Spyder boast a more powerful engine than its
predecessor and permanent all-wheel drive. A new chassis and exterior style exudes the Lamborghini brand and aura of exclusivity, extreme performance and aggressiveness.
The 2010 Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 all new 5.2 liter V-10 engine pushes out 560 horsepower which is 40 hp more than its predecessor, hence the model name Gallardo “LP560″. The LP of the model name stands for “Longitudinal Position” which is how the engine is positioned lengthwise in front of the rear axle. The handling of the Gallardo LP560-4 is amazing, the large brakes can kill speed fast and stop quickly and when you hit the throttle the torque of 398 lb -ft will drive you into the drivers seat as the Gallardo accelerates from 0-100km/h in a blazing 4 seconds. During the acceleration the LP560-4 remaings stable, secure and still easy to drive.
One thing negative about the 2010 Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 is the fact that reversing the sports car is not that easy. Even, though to get it into reverse is easy…a simple “Reverse” button on the steering wheel. When you actually reverse this thing, the wide body of the exotic car and blind spots will make it quite difficult.
The Gallardo can come with a six speed clutch-less e-gear manual transmission which adds $12,000 to the price of the exotic sports roadster. Apparently most buyers of the
Gallardo choose the e-gear transmission over the standard manual the reason could be because of the extremely easy to use and quickness of the paddle shifters on the steering wheel. The great thing about the e-gear is you can set it on “automatic” when you get tired of shifting with the paddles.
With 3 different settings the e-gear transmission can change with your preference of driving styles.
The settings are:
- Standard
- Sport with short shift times
- Corsa
The highest setting Corsa is for when you want to feel optimal engine acceleration. According to Lamborghini the e-gear transmission is forgiving, an example of that is if you forgot to up shift or down shift the e-gear transmission will actually do it for you.
The top of the roadster can be put down in 20 seconds, and wherever you drive you will get looks from passers by as the exterior design is exotic, aggressive and demands attention. Inside the Gallardo you will find yourself a beautiful leather interior with heated seats along with knobs on the dashboard for all the high tech gadgetry. As for the trunk space, well there is very little space so don’t go expecting to put golf clubs for 2 in the trunk.
